In my humble opinion, one of the most important character traits anyone should develop is the ability and discipline to listen.
To listen isn’t to hear what is said but to understand under what circumstances was it said? Why was it even thought of and what is the unspoken resistance to an alternative thought than what the person has said…?
This is why I call it a discipline and like any other type of character trait to develop, it may take time but it’s a lifelong journey to a better human experience which of course translates to how we nurture our relationship with the divine.
